From Jason - Perhaps helpful to you:
I am now asking all of my guests to review the show and ask their community to review the show they are on in iTunes. One of them asked: “why?” Noting that if you were not already a user, it is not necessarily an easy/attractive experience. Below is my response to him. You may be asked the same question–and this may be useful for you. In Service and in Evolution, Jason |||||||:::::: Hi Dave. Thanks for asking. I think these are important questions. let me handle them in the reverse order you asked them: But, if there were a countering incentive to use the iTunes link, folks might be more inclined to do it. At least that’s my reasoning. . . . There are a couple of reasons to use iTunes from the users’ perspective: 1. You can subscribe to the show you were on, or any of the other Personal Life Media shows, and it will automatically download them for you when there is a new episode. That gives you and your community fresh, value dense content. If you have an iPod, it can automatically update them on that as they sync their iPod, meaning you could never be out of rich content that will improve your life and expand your perspectives. 2. The more people who review the show [any episode] the higher Apple rates it and it can become a featured podcast. 90% of our downloads come through iTunes. What that means to you is that your episode can get a lot more exposure–meaning your wisdom and services get more exposure. I tried it and found that I couldn’t proceed without a mac.com account, which I imagine could be a disincentive for some people (spam prevention, you know….) In my experience, you do not need a mac.com account. Although that will get you in. I do not have one, but I have an Apple ID [my primary email address]. I have that so I can comment on the Apple?Mac support forums. They do require you to give a credit card. This can be a disincentive. Personally, I use iTunes all the time to purchase music and movies and I love it. I have never found spam to be an issue. Not through Apple. You simply tell them you do not want to receive email, and Apple is _highly_ rigorous and respectful of that. Thanks Jason. And just so I know what I’m promoting, how does it help you if folks go through iTunes? How it helps us is that, again, 90% comes through iTunes, so the more user reviews and 5 star ratings we have, the higher Personal Life Media is placed. The higher we are placed, the more exposure people get to our free and valuable content. The more people who are exposed to our valuable content, the better the world we create, which is ultimately what it is about, isn’t it? AND if the iTunes thing seems like too much of a hassle, I understand. AND if you can put it out there, people may already be subscribed and it will be a 3 minute process for them. Thanks again, Dave. Jason

Hello Dearest Talented Hosts Extraordinaire,
Here is the link to get your “Featured On” ad for your guests to put up on their site.
All are done now:
http://distinctpixel.com/PersonalLifeMedia/?group=ispAds
Here’s copy text that I wrote to my latest guest on DishyMix so that he would create a text link and put the album art up. That’s the best of both worlds for us.
Kevin,
I’ve created the html for you for the link and the “Featured On” DishyMix image.
Here is the ideal anchor text from the search engine perspective:
Podcast Interview with Kevin Wassong - “President of Minyanville Publishing and Multimedia Transitions From Agency Guy to Publisher”, on DishyMix.
Here is the URL of the page:
http://www.personallifemedia.com/podcasts/dishy-mix/episode007-kevin-wassong-from-agency-guy-to-publisher.html
You will assemble those two pieces to create the HTML code that you will put on your page to make the link: Podcast Interview with Kevin Wassong - “President of Minyanville Publishing and Multimedia Transitions From Agency Guy to Publisher” on DishyMix
This will open up DishyMix in a new window, so your visitors will still also be on Minyanville.
Test it first to make sure the email didn’t mess it up.
Best,
Suz
On Tuesday, Tim is going to train Cindy on how to create these html links so if you can’t make them yourself, she can help you.
Love,
Suz

How are you today? I am SO appreciative of the amazing work that you are all collectively doing. I listen to your shows and feel great joy in my heart that the work is so strong! Thank you so much. We will be so successful. We just have to let the world know about your amazing content. So here’s one way we are going to do that:
I am creating special animated album art ads for you to use to get more links to your show pages. Click here to see the ads. http://distinctpixel.com/PersonalLifeMedia/?group=ispAds
I’ve also attached them to this email. You can right click on your art to save it to your desktop and use it however you’d like. It would be nice to put it on your website!
In addition, please make sure that your guests get a copy and the URL for their episode page so they can put it on their site and link back to their interview. Many of you are working with Cindy Cooper, our publicist, to get links from your top guests. Perhaps you can ask ALL your guests to link to their show?
Inbound links are the single most important thing that Google and Yahoo! and MSN search view beyond the keywords to determine the importance of a page in creating the almighty “page rank.” The higher your page rank, the more you come up in search results based on keywords. It would behoove you to ask all your friends, family and acquaintances, fellow bloggers and of course, all your guests, to use this art to link to your pages so you can generate more traffic to and awareness to your shows to increase your listener base and subscribers.
This is important work. Will you add it to your to-do list? It will result in benefit for you. I am also working on a few ads for some of our shows where I’ve been able to get barter deals. I’ll have those soon to show you too.
