The Good Life Coach: Embracing the Challenge and Opportunity of Change
To be “the good life” coach to my listeners, I want to do everything I can get real about Money, Mission, and Meaning, because reality is where all the good stuff is.
So, here is the most important thing I can tell you - The sky is falling - the world we have known is changing dramatically, turning upside down, whether we like it or not.
In this series of “The Good Life Coach” articles, I want to highlight the this challenges outrageous opportunities to these changes will, without question, bring into your life. I expect my words to both shock and soothe you, leaving you both provoked and prodded to be on the leading edge of this change, rather being drug behind it. I hope I will inspire you to embrace these changes and surf the wave they are creating, rather than fighting them and being crushed in its wake. The earth under our feet is quaking, and it will require a new type of intelligence and flexibility simply to maintain our balance, let alone - to dance with it.
Although these metaphors may seem a bit “over-the-top,” they are not. We are in for the ride of our lives, and it will not be getting less intense through time, the more intense. Sometimes I wish it were otherwise, but is more important to deal with the reality, then the fantasy of how we wish it “could or should” be.
I am telling you now, the question is not “Will it happen?” But “will you be ready for it?”
Since we are all on the ride whether we want to be or not, we might as well choose to enjoy it! We can learn the skills not only adapt, but thrive in this new environment. And let’s be clear - I am on this ride as much as you! The opportunities that will present themselves to those of us who are prepared are both endless and beautiful. Let’s throw up our arms, scream with excitement, and celebrate the times we live in. The choice is ours. Together, we can tap into our creative genius, put our hearts on the line, and create A Game We All Can Win. Besides, what else do we have to do?
AND, while the changes can be disconcerting they are also mind-bogglingly exciting. Some of the fastest-growing companies and wealthiest people in world are in industries that did not exist 10 years ago. While we have heard some of the statistics, we rarely stop to realize the implications. It is not just the biggest businesses, but the smallest. The opportunities for lucrative entrepreneurial businesses are multiplying faster than our ability to catalog them. If you choose to embrace the changes and bring your heart and mind to understanding them, your creative genius will naturally find passionate and profitable ideas that can change the very course of your life.
