“Now is the Time” Soundtrack, the Next “We Are the World”

Now is the Time, an inspirational athem for the green movement is getting some attention.  Last week at Digital Hollywood in LA,  Ralph Simons (associated with Live Earth) met composer, Troy Lush, to discuss the possiblity of his song, “Now is the Time” as the 21st athem that Live Earth is looking for …  This song was a big hit at Grace Catherdral last month during the Bee-Inn Social and has attracted lots of attention.

My prediction: In 8 months, several celebrities will be singing this song and we’ll hear it on the mainstream radio waves.

Living Green, Top 100 in itunes, Press Release Issued Today

Today Living Green, one of Personal Life Media’s top shows and an iTunes Top 100 podcast (out of 85,000 podcasts!) has a press announcement where the podcast is very cleverly packaged.

Because the show is about “effortless ecology for everyday people,” I asked every show guest to come up with one Eco-Request for American citizens.

My hope is that bloggers and journalists will take this list of “challenges” put forth by people “walking the walk” and will create more dialog about what everyone and anyone can do to make a difference for the planet.

This podcast press strategy helps highlight the solid line up of guests on Living Green; raises the bar on what a podcasting press release should look like; gives the media something to “chew on” and furthers great ideas for all of us to consider in the fight against the climate crisis.

Here’s the full release. Let me know your comments about the Eco-Requests, the strategy or the show.

Personal Life Media Engages Sustainable Living Leaders To Communicate Their Eco-Requests Through ‘Living Green’ Podcasts

Green Pathfinders Appeal to American Citizens to Take Specific Actions

LOS ALTOS, CA – June 25, 2007 – Personal Life Media™, Inc. a publisher of lifestyle content in the form of 15 weekly audio programs, podcasts and blogs for people on the leading edge of culture, showcases a special series on “Living Green: Effortless Ecology for Everyday People” an advertising and sponsorship-supported free podcast. Hosted by Meredith Medland, founder of 3outcomes.com and environmental blogger, Meredith confabs with professionals in the ecology and sustainable-living arena who have special requests for Americans who want to move to a more green way of life.

“Americans have varying levels of interest in the green movement and through my interviews and relationships with some of today’s foremost experts on how to live a sustainable lifestyle, we believe if we ‘challenge’ American citizens by providing simple ways they can incorporate living green into their busy lives, we would see a shift in thinking that no matter how small or seemingly insignificant a change is, it will make a difference,” said Meredith Medland, Founder of 3outcomes.

Each week, Meredith’s guests provide one “small change” that American consumers can use to begin creating a healthier planet. These simple requests from experts include:

• Dan Ruben, Executive Director, Boston Green Tourism “Calculate your carbon footprint and make plans to reduce it by at least 10% per year for the next three years. If your lifestyle is like the average American, this won’t be difficult.”

• Michael Gosney, co-founder, Green Century Institute – “Help your town or city implement systemic changes toward ecological balance starting with your neighbors or those in your community.” http://personallifemedia.com/podcasts/living-green/episode004-michael-gosney-digital-be-in.html

• Tierra Del Forte, Founder, Del Forte Denim “Always carry a non-disposable tote around so you have an alternative to use plastic bags for those last minute purchases.”

• Rowan Gabrielle, President, URTH.tv – “Re-think the way you dress. Buy or make at least one organic outfit that you either love the color, style or fabric and live in it to see how it makes you feel. Rather than wearing something for “fashion”, wear something that is for “life.” Know that in making a change in your clothing, you are making yourselves a walking embodiment of change.” http://personallifemedia.com/podcasts/living-green/episode001-rowan-gabrielle.html

• Richard Louv, author of the best selling book ‘Last Child in the Woods – Saving our Children from Nature Deficit Disorder’ – “Spend two hours a week outside in nature. This will give you a better perspective on the wholeness and beauty of our earth and what we could potentially lose if we don’t value its existence.”

• Suzanne Sterling, World Music Diva, Kirtan Leader & Progressive
Ritualist of the Yoga Groove – “Seek out and use ONLY green cleaning products such Seventh Generation or the like.”

• Sarah Haynes, founder and CEO of The Spitfire Agency - “Carry your garbage for a week in a backpack with you everywhere you go.” http://personallifemedia.com/podcasts/living-green/episode008-sarah-haynes-zero-waste.html

• Paul Stamets, mycologist, founder of Fungi Perfecti® and author, who discusses his recent work in the movie 11th Hour with Leonardo DiCaprio and Daryl Hannah - “Learn to identify 10 species of mushrooms so that you are aware of the inherent powers and ways to improve the health of the planet and its people.” http://www.personallifemedia.com/podcasts/living-green/episode010-paul-stamets-fungal-intelligence.html

• Zem Joaquin, green editor for House and Garden & the ecofabulous site– “Use a travel coffee mug to eliminate the paper cup waste created each time you purchase a coffee or beverage.” http://www.personallifemedia.com/podcasts/living-green/episode009-zem-joaquin-cradle-to-cradle.html

Living Green guests believe their personal practices will bring about global change. While Meredith engages in a healthy and honest debate about how worthwhile a sustainable lifestyle really is, listeners learn what motivates these eco-savvy people. Through her unique interview style, her guests relate practical how-to advice on socially-responsible investing, green stocks, composting, recycled and organic products and foods, eco-tourism, green building, energy-efficient appliances and Energy-Star home products, alternative healthcare, clean, renewable and solar energy, carbon credits, Hybrid cars and more.

LiveEarth 070707: The Concert that Will Shift Green Forever

”Climates in Crisis” — Are you ready for one of the most pivotal concerts in the history of the mainstream ecology movement? It’s on it’s way.  Live Earth 2007 !

My concerns: They are not walking the walking. Do your research about the actual money spent on greening the event - or listen to Sarah Haynes, in Episode 9, discuss the importance of music events greening their events.  Learn how to discern GREEN!!! from good ole green.  Sometimes it’s not that easy being green — but the payoff in the long run is worth it. You can find lots of ways to help on Twitter!

Now, another key: Language.  I imagine the amount of marketing dollars being spent on the name of the event, “CLIMATE IN CRISIS”  - Please, if there is one thing you can do - shift your language, your marketing and what you do to positive langage that enrolls people in the experience you would like them to feel in their bodies. Let’s move toward a pleasure based society and get rid of all this fear.  I see millons of people creating change to support a better world, how about  “Climate Connects Cultures” — ok, maybe not the best marketing tagline — but you get the point.  Marketing Messages cause the biggest evolution for the mainstream society.  If  you’re involved in creating them — please put your focus on what you would like to create and generate change just in the very reading of the message.

Meredith interviews Al Gore - Watching Him Visualize

Spending time with Al Gore opened my eyes to the focus required to be a “celebrity.” I asked him what he would like to create in the next 3 months, Specially 3outcomes–

He sank deeply in his mind, paused and breathed deeply — then I watched him speak out, rather quickly, very very specific visions he was bringing into the world. Whether it’s “The Secret”, Visualization or the latest Create Your Own Reality Guru — it’s so true — Get in your body, drop into your mind — look around your creative boardroom and don’t hide– Speak those visions to the outside and they just might come true!

Mayan Tradition Goes Mainstream in Movie: Shift of the Ages

The Shift of the Ages Film opens yet another doorway to Global Change.

According to the Mayan Calendar, a 5,200-year cycle closes in the year 2012. This event is the death of the 4th period of the Sun, and the birth of the new 5th Sun. Civilizations of the past who were participating in the prior reality Shifts helped the Creator evolve the situation to where it is today.

There is a growing anticipation by our mainstream public that something big is on the horizon. Think about this because this is huge! We are focusing on an event that will give us liberation from a parasitic system, and a reason to awaken and regain the forgotten technologies and powers that were suppressed through time. This is the event prophesied by many of our ancestors in the various world religions.

It’s the necessary “flipping” in our reality that sets us truly free, and it’s right on schedule, just as predicted. Do you feel this in your own life? Do you have anything brewing internally? It’s something we are experiencing externally as well as internally.
