As the world gathers to honor Easter and Passover…

I realize I feel a bit confused.  Raised Catholic by an Italian/Dutch mother and a German Jewish father, I left my link to organized religion on Route 24 in Massachusetts setting out for the new adventures California would bring. When the holidays approach, I am not quite sure what to honor - the influence of my mothers rearing, the desire to connect with my lost Jewish roots, or my own interest in Buddhism, shamanism and energy work.

I know I can have it all.  I can honor all parts and pieces and influences in my life.  I can call my mom to  offer an ebullient “Happy Easter” to respect her beliefs, I can learn from fellow Jews who invite me to Seder to share the magic of song, ceremony and haroset (yum), and I can sit in quiet meditation going deeply inward to just “be”.  As this gloriously sunny Easter Sunday wanes on, I sit pondering past practices of going to Mass with my mom as a child and various beliefs that were seeded in my mind.  Reflecting upon these influences in my life, I am discovering more and more how my past has shaped my present outlook and thinking.
The most profound beliefs instilled in me at a young age were ones regarding sex, masterbation, and homosexuality (as it pertains to Catholicism). I realize I have been unconsciously living in a very small world of what I can do as a mature, healthy, sexual female being.  Today I am waking up to the barriers my mind has been holding to maintain some sense of “rightness, goodness, and acceptability” regarding my life, my relationships, my sexuality.  I know I am not the only one.  Women are stirring, allowing their deep internal desires to surface, be seen, heard and experienced.
As your host of Just for Women: Dating, Relationships, and Sex, I take this opportunity very seriously.  I am your guide.  I am your “front line” of exploration for what we need to know as women to be the most passionate, knowledgable, sexy, tuned-in, turned on and empowered Goddesses we can be.

I say this because I just completed an interview with Celeste and Danielle (www.celesteanddanielle.com), two Sex and Intimacy Coaches who offer a variety of workshops for women and men (singles and couples) on reclaiming their power as sexual beings.  That interview changed my life and I sincerely hope after you hear it, it does the same for you. Subscribe to the show and look for that interview - it is a breath of fresh spring air that you have long been waiting for ~ I promise.
Now is the time for all of us to tap into the vast wealth of knowledge our bodies contain. I realize that because I was so afraid to have sex as a young person for fear of going to hell, I lost touch with my natural desires as a sexual being.  I got afraid of intense sensations and allowing them to be expressed and so became anxious, frustrated and mean.  Life does not need to be so difficult! Celeste and Danielle are pioneers in helping men and women reconnect with their bodies, minds and spirits so that a natural state of grace can resume and permeate our beings.  That is why we are here, we are here to experience JOY- that is what I believe!

It is time to let go of all that no longer serves us and heal those old wounds.  So on this day I am celebrating LIFE, LOVE and ABUNDANCE.  I am celebrating FREEDOM, COMMUNICATION, TRUST AND ORGASM.  I invite you to start to investigate for yourself what your deepest desires are and question why you haven’t gone for them?  Why you haven’t asked?  What are you holding onto as “truth” that may just be sheer speculation, other people’s beliefs and plain old fear?

These are the adventures we are going on.  Please write to me and let me know what YOU are celebrating - what your dreams are - what you want to hear covered on the show - what you LOVE about yourself - what INSPIRES you - how you are living a JUICY life - what are you letting go of this year - what are you calling in to your life - tell me ~ I want to know!

Stay tuned, stay connected and stay in LOVE and JOY.

Namaste ~

Alissa
