She’s Geeky Un-Conference - See You There?

She’s Geeky is a beautifully-named Women’s Tech (un)conference taking place October 22-23 in Mountain View, CA.

We are assembling women from all over the tech world who proudly consider themselves geeky. We’ll use this time together to exchange contacts, skills and provide mutual support in our careers as well as to talk about issues core to women in the tech world.
What could be better than a room full of amazing, smart women?

Not much! I’m looking forward to going.

Personally, I’ve always loved technology and worked hard to stay on top of the latest trends.

I’ve built my repuatation on being involved not just in media, but in cutting edge media and the most pioneering spaces for new ad models.

One of my ongoing roles is to program industry conferences. First for IAB, then ad:tech for 5 solid years, then an event for MySpace and now for the future of the Association for Downloadable Media. I’ve offered to do a presentation on “How to Effectively Pitch Yourself for a Speak Op” at the “She’s Geeky” event.

I have always worked to get more women into speak ops. My gross generalizations, taken from years of proof points are that women who speak at public events offer an alternative viewpoint and approach to men in the same business; they work harder to prepare and are in general much more animated speakers. A session with all men is deadly dull. Put one chick on a tech panel and watch the dynamic get much more fun.

Getting women on stage to share their knowledge is a pet project of mine.

If you are a tech chick, please join us! There is a two step registration process.
