Congratulations Brad Berens - ad:tech and iMedia!

dmg World Media announced that Brad Berens has been promoted to the role of Chief Content Officer & Editor at Large for ad:tech expositions, LLC and iMedia Communications, Inc. in North America.

Berens will lead the content team for both companies, assuming an advisory role for the iMedia Connection editorial team that he has led since 2004.

This is great news - one person at the top who will further integrate these two amazing companies. There’s so much synergy and Brad is one of the most consciencious managers I’ve met. He knows what’s possible with the talent under his care and I believe he will do amazing work bringing these two entities more closely together. Everyone will win in this scenario.

Congratulations, Brad!

I am glad that your interview on DishyMix came out the same day that as announcement.

“I can’t believe Susan got me to say what I said.”

– Testimonial from DSC of VPVP.

One of the all-time best DishyMix interviews was with David Scott Carlick. Click here to listen on Webmasterradio.fm. I’ve invited him back to see what he’s been up to. Expect the smart ass comments, witty criticisms, silliness and debauchery in late October or early November.

From Kama Sutra to Darwinian Perspectives - 2006 DishyMix Interview - David Scott Carlick
David and I discuss everything from the race riots of the 60’s to sex on waterbeds. Not for the timid, you’ll hear some dirty jokes, some off color humor, and some crazy perspectives.

Are corn, dogs and grass really controlling human beings? Are creationists the most highly-evolved? That’s the Darwinian supposition posited by David.

Find out why he takes his signature look from Ivan Boesky and how a lapel pin becomes an “engagement beacon.”

Hippy woodworker and millionaire VC, the conversation ranges from mood rings to sumptuous Australian Shiraz to the importance of keeping intimacy strong in marriage.

Susan shares her perspective on Tantra vs. Kama Sutra for intimate connections which makes for some lively interaction!

Don’t miss this adventure in conversation - a truly dishy experience.

She’s Geeky Un-Conference - See You There?

She’s Geeky is a beautifully-named Women’s Tech (un)conference taking place October 22-23 in Mountain View, CA.

We are assembling women from all over the tech world who proudly consider themselves geeky. We’ll use this time together to exchange contacts, skills and provide mutual support in our careers as well as to talk about issues core to women in the tech world.
What could be better than a room full of amazing, smart women?

Not much! I’m looking forward to going.

Personally, I’ve always loved technology and worked hard to stay on top of the latest trends.

I’ve built my repuatation on being involved not just in media, but in cutting edge media and the most pioneering spaces for new ad models.

One of my ongoing roles is to program industry conferences. First for IAB, then ad:tech for 5 solid years, then an event for MySpace and now for the future of the Association for Downloadable Media. I’ve offered to do a presentation on “How to Effectively Pitch Yourself for a Speak Op” at the “She’s Geeky” event.

I have always worked to get more women into speak ops. My gross generalizations, taken from years of proof points are that women who speak at public events offer an alternative viewpoint and approach to men in the same business; they work harder to prepare and are in general much more animated speakers. A session with all men is deadly dull. Put one chick on a tech panel and watch the dynamic get much more fun.

Getting women on stage to share their knowledge is a pet project of mine.

If you are a tech chick, please join us! There is a two step registration process.
